FIT Show is hoping to continue its award-winning streak after being shortlisted for two prestigious AEO Awards.

The event organisers have been recognised as finalists in both the ‘Best UK Trade Show (more than 8000sqm)’ and ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year - Trade’ categories for the prestigious industry awards.

FIT Show’s shortlisting comes hot on the heels of the team’s success at the Exhibition News Awards, where the show took home the coveted ‘Best Trade Show Marketing Campaign’ gong in March.

Taking place at London’s Grosvenor House (Friday 15th June) the AEO Awards will bring together the great and good of the events industry to celebrate organisers’ achievements, standards of excellence from venues and service quality by suppliers and contractors.

FIT Show has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2013, outgrowing its original home at Telford Exhibition Centre and relocating to the NEC in 2017 - this move and the overall upscaling of the event played a prominent role in the 2017 marketing campaign.

In a difficult market, in the immediate aftermath of Brexit, the FIT Show’s move to the NEC saw a 17.4% increase in visitors to nearly 10,000, 33.5% increase in exhibitors, 79% increase in space sold, 68% increase in revenue and 103% increase in profit.

The marketing campaign, which centred around the theme of ‘Something BIG’ and utilised new digital channels including video content, saw an increase in website visits of 52% versus the 2016 campaign and a 63% increase in visits to exhibitor sites from the FIT Show website.

Speaking about the announcement, FIT Show event director, Nickie West said: “We’re beyond delighted to have made the cut in not one, but two AEO award categories for the 2017 FIT Show.

“A great deal of our success is down to the support of the wider glass and glazing sector and we see any recognition that FIT Show receives as a further opportunity to highlight the fantastic achievements across the industry as a whole.”
