We FIT Together - A Spotlight on FOREL
Forel’s presence at FIT Show 2025 gave the business a powerful platform to introduce its triple thin concept to the UK and Ireland market and start conversations around the future of high-performance glazing. For the Italian glass processing specialist, the show was not just about visibility - it was about proving that innovation, simplicity and relevance can create real engagement with the right audience.
About ForelFounded in 1976, Forel has grown from a family business into an international partner to the glass industry, designing and manufacturing flat glass and insulating glass processing solutions entirely in-house from its headquarters in Vallio di Roncade, Italy. Today, the business employs around 280 people, serves more than 70 countries and continues to invest heavily in research, development and innovation.
Why FIT Show 2025 matteredFor Forel UK & Ireland, FIT Show 2025 was the right place to launch its triple thin concept and speak directly to manufacturers, processors and systems houses. The business has long viewed the show as the premium event for the UK and Ireland glass and fenestration industry, and the 2025 edition provided the ideal environment to present a new idea to a highly relevant audience.
Joe Hague, FOREL Intl Business Development Manager, comments: “FIT Show is the premium event for the UK and Ireland glass and fenestration industry. I have supported FIT Show since inception and found it to be the most relevant event to showcase products to local customers.”
Launching triple thinForel used FIT Show 2025 to unveil its concept for the manufacture of a triple IGU using a 1.0mm inner glass pane. The idea was designed to address a very real market challenge: how to deliver the performance benefits of triple glazing while reducing the weight, size and cost barriers that can hold the market back.
The response was immediate and encouraging. By showing the concept in person, Forel was able to explain not only the technology itself, but also the wider commercial value it could bring to IGU manufacturers looking to future-proof their businesses.
Brian McDonald CEO of Forel UK and Ireland, adds: “We knew that leading the industry on this topic was going to be about engagement, because the potential benefits the product provides manufacturers could solve many future challenges in the production of triple IGU.”

The feedback Forel received from IGU manufacturers, processors and systems houses confirmed that the concept had struck a chord. As the wider market continues to focus on energy performance, compliance and production efficiency, the triple thin proposition has helped position Forel as a business that is not only innovative, but also commercially relevant.
Brian adds: “In a mature industry sector like ours, bringing something new to market will always be judged by its relevance, ROI and customer requirement. Our customers recognised that future-proofing their business with our equipment is a smart way of guaranteeing competitiveness in an ever-changing market dynamic.”
Why the stand made a differenceForel’s FIT Show 2025 presence gave the team an important opportunity to go beyond a product explanation and have meaningful face-to-face conversations with the market. The stand helped create momentum, build awareness and demonstrate that the concept was not just theoretical - it was practical, achievable and backed by real-world manufacturing experience.
The company’s approach also aligned closely with the increasing focus on the role of glass in meeting thermal performance targets, particularly as regulations continue to evolve in the UK and Ireland.
Looking aheadThe success of FIT Show 2025 gave Forel a springboard for future conversations, including its planned return in 2027. But the real story is what happened in 2025: a new idea introduced to the market, strong engagement from the right audience, and a platform that helped Forel move its message forward.
Brian continues: “FIT Show gave us the perfect platform to introduce triple thin to the UK and Ireland market and start important conversations about what comes next for glass processing. The response from visitors confirmed there is real appetite for innovation that delivers both performance and commercial value.”
“Any opportunity where you can maximise your time by visiting all your relevant business contacts because they are all in the same place is obvious. When you couple that with seeing up-to-date equipment and becoming more knowledgeable about industry topics and changes, it becomes a no-brainer”.
Nickie West, FIT Show event director concludes: “Forel is a fantastic example of a business using FIT Show to launch innovation and have meaningful conversations with the market. Visitors benefited from seeing a company that brings real technical expertise, practical solutions and a clear focus on the future of glass manufacturing. We’re delighted to welcome them back for FIT Show 2027.”
