You know you're going to FIT Show, but do your customers and prospects? Well now's your chance to tell them. Since the FIT Show started in 2013, the people that make up the industry have always been the ‘stars’ of the show in all of our marketing activity. This year, we're building on the success of previous campaigns by incorporating video. And we want you and your brand to play the leading role!
Our #EveryonesGoingLive video campaign is designed to give you a platform to tell everyone you're going to FIT Show, what they can expect from you at the event and why they should come and connect with you.
Don't panic, these do NOT have to be fully produced professional videos, what we really want are real people and footage of your business, so that people visiting the show can see the business behind the gloss of the show.
To give you a helping hand, we have written a short user guide, along with an overview of how we’re going to use the videos.
Firstly, don’t worry about being the next Steven Spielberg, these videos are all about getting your business across in the most genuine and honest way. We want the viewers to see the personality of the business, the people behind the scenes, the operations and the quality you deliver. We would prefer unscripted videos, no one really wants to sit watching the MD waffle on for hours about the company! The more realistic the better.
Today, smartphones have brilliant quality cameras and can deliver the quality we need for a web video, if you choose to do a hand held walk around video then we’re happy to receive this format. However, if you want to deliver a more professional production then of course we will be happy to accept these too! We just don’t want to restrict people’s ability to show off their business by expecting fully polished productions. We’ll leave that choice to you.
Things to remember
- Make sure the video is well lit, it's very different watching things on a small screen than it is in real life, what you can see may not be able to be seen on the final video.
- Make sure the audio is clear and loud, these videos will be mostly listened to on a desktop computer or smartphone, so the audio has to be clear and understandable. If you are recording on your phone, make sure you’re always talking to camera, ideally you will be able to purchase a dedicated microphone for your device, but this isn’t essential.
- Speak slower than normal! It’s often the case that ‘handheld’ videos have lots of mumbling and ‘chatter’. This is ok in real life when you’re in the same room but doesn’t translate well over video. Again, whilst we don’t need fully polished videos, you need to ensure the content is clear.
- Try to have a logical ‘story’… Any video, whether professional or not, will require some form of start, middle and end. It’s useful to plan the video, start with an introduction to the business and maybe a quick overview of what you plan to show. Make sure everyone who’s appearing in the video is ready and prepared to do their bit. Make it as seamless as possible.
We will accept any length of video (within reason) but try keeping it short and to the point. We suggest no more than 3 minutes, but really if it’s fun, exciting and engaging then a quick minute short video would be great! This is your chance to get your brand infront of people, tell them why you're going to FIT Show and why they should come and connect with you!
